Mr. K.K. Lau has 45 years of experience in the field of Automotive Engineering, starting out since 1970. His industrial experience began as a mechanic, welder and technician, going on to be a SAF Ordinance Technical Officer (Captain). He was part of the pioneering Trans-Island Bus Company, in charge of the maintenance repair section which employed over 300 personnel in the early years. Since 1984, he has fully ventured into full-fledged private practice as motor survey professional and the services provided by his firm are widely engaged by the motor insurance repair industry including standing as expert witnesses to the State Courts of Singapore.

Mr. K.K. Lau has received academic training in multi-disciplinary fields including Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Accident Investigation and Reconstruction, Welding, Industrial Management, and Business Administration. He is a long-time member of various professional societies and institutes – which are mostly not-for-profit institutions serving to advance the development of their fields and to contribute to their communities, one of them being the notable American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) (P.E.). Currently, he contributes to public service as a Board Member of the Requisition of Resources Compensation Board (RORCB). Earlier, he was also an Adjunct lecturer for the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore of Diploma in Automotive Engineering.  

As of today, he holds a MSc(Eng M), MBA(UK), B.Eng(Hons), P.E.(ASME), PEng(UK), MASME(USA), B.Bus(Aust), IEng(UK), MIIE(mech), MinstAEA, MFIEA, MIRTE, MIMI, MSAE, MCIArb, AM.NJAAR(USA), AM.IAARS(USA), AM.CATAIR(CAN), M.MATAI(USA), M.MdATAI(USA) to name a few.
